You need to be a member to use the HealthPlanet app (registration is free).
Upload HealthPlanet data
If you are already a member, log in and your HealthPlanet data will be uploaded automatically from your account.
Login/Logout
Use the login screen to log in. When you want to log out, tap “Profile” icon at the top right corner of the home screen and select “Logout” button shown at the bottom.
Warning
We strongly recommend that you use your telecom carrier line or other stable network environment when using the app.
Manual entry
Record manually
- Select and tap “Enter data” button on the home screen.
- Select the type of date you want to record, enter the values, and tap “Enter this data” button.
●Tap “Enter detailed data” button to enter BCM data other than body weight and body fat percentage.
●If the system is on automatic transfer mode from a compatible device, tap “Revert to manual entry” button.
Record using compatible device
*To change the compatible device, please cancel the existing device and register a new one.

Register
- Turn Bluetooth ON, on the communication device.
- Tap “Enter Data” on the app’s home screen.
- Select the “Body” tab and tap Enter from BCM.
- Tap “Bluetooth Low Energy BCM” on the device selection screen.
- Tap “Register BCM”.
- Check to make sure that the BCM is turned off and hold down the ○ (communication button) for at least 3 seconds.
- Enter each device setting and press “Register”.
●The Bluetooth Low Energy BCM can be used with iPhone 6s or later and Android devices equipped with Bluetooth. (Be sure to check the list of compatible devices here.)
- Step on the BCM. When measurement is completed and you see, “Data has been entered,” tap “Done” at the top right of the screen.
Cancel or change registration
- Tap "Profile" icon at the top right corner of the home screen.
- Tap “Manage registered devices” button.
- Tap “Edit” on the BCM that you wish to cancel.
Tap “Change” to change your Nickname, Clothing and Smartphone Weight, BCM Area, or Label.
Tap “Cancel” to unregister your device.
Measure with BCM and send data
- With the BCM turned off, tap “Enter Data” on the app’s home screen.
- Select “Body” to start the BCM.
- Step on the BCM. When measurement is complete and you see, “Data has been entered” tap “Done” as the top right of the screen.
●Measurement can still be taken by simply getting on the BCM even if a communication device is not available at the time.
Data for up to 10 measurements can be saved in the main unit and sent with the data from the next measurement to the communication device.
Weight of clothing and smartphone
When measuring with Noru Pita (user recognition function), the weight of your clothing and smartphone are not deducted.
To deduct Clothing and Smartphone Weight, please use the app to start the BCM.
Clothing and Smartphone Weight settings can be changed by following these steps:
Profile > Manage Registered Devices > Edit (Registered Devices) > Change > Clothing and Smartphone Weight
*Reset pairing
When an OS application is updated, the pairing may be canceled due to BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy) specification. If this happens, please reset the pairing. We apologize for the inconvenience.

●RD-930L / 931L Body Composition Monitor with Bluetooth Low Energy / Wireless LAN Compatibility (supports iPhone and Android apps)
Wireless LAN or Bluetooth communication can be selected for each user. If wireless LAN communication is selected, measurement results are automatically transmitted to the server, and you can check the measurements on your smartphone or computer at your convenience. If Bluetooth communication is selected, you can see the results on your smartphone even without a wireless LAN network.
●The Body Composition Monitor with Bluetooth Low Energy / Wireless LAN Environment Compatibility can be used with iPhone 6s and later and Android devices with Bluetooth. (Be sure to check the list of compatible devices found here.)

Using the BCM with Bluetooth communication
Set up Bluetooth communication
If you are using the BCM for the first time, set up Bluetooth communication by following these steps.
- Turn on Bluetooth on your smartphone.
- Tap “Input Data” on the app home screen.
- If the “BCM” tab is selected, tap “Input from BCM”.
- Tap “Body Composition Monitor with Bluetooth Low Energy / Wireless LAN Compatibility” on the device selection screen.
- Tap “Register BCM”.
- Make sure that the BCM power is turned off, press the 〇 button on the BCM and select “Communication Settings” > “Set from Smartphone”.
- Input each of the items in “BCM Settings” on the app.
- Tap “Measure with Bluetooth (BLE) Enabled”.
- Step on the BCM. When measurement is complete and “Data inputted” is displayed, tap “Complete” on the upper-right of the screen.
This completes Bluetooth setup.
From the next time you use the BCM, make the measurements and transmit the data using either of two methods, measurement using a smartphone or measurement without using a smartphone.
Measurement using a smartphone
- With the BCM power off, tap “Input data” on the app home screen.
- When “Body Composition” is selected, the BCM is launched.
- Step on the BCM. When measurement is complete and “Data inputted” is displayed, tap “Complete” on the upper-right of the screen.
Measurement without using a smartphone
When making measurements without a smartphone, save the measurement data in the BCM and transmit the data to your smartphone after measurement. You can save up to ten sets of data in the BCM.
- With the power off, step on the BCM.
- Your body composition is measured and the data is automatically saved in the BCM.
*The person being measured is automatically recognized from among the people registered and the result is displayed. If automatic recognition results in multiple candidates, step off the BCM and select your user ID. If the heartrate setting is on, step back on the BCM and measure your heartrate.
Transmit the measurement data saved in the BCM to your smartphone via one of the following methods. A maximum of ten sets of data can be saved in the BCM for each user ID. When measuring after the tenth time, the oldest set of data will be deleted, so transmit the data before this. When you make measurements using your smartphone, the measurement data that is saved in the BCM is transmitted to your phone.

Data transmission using the app
- Tap the profile icon at the top right corner of the home screen.
- Tap “Manage Device”
- Tap “Get Data” for the BCM from which you want to transmit the data.
- Tap “OK” and the measurement data saved on the BCM is transmitted to your smartphone.
This completes data transmission to your smartphone.
Having data automatically transmitted when the app is launched
- Tap "Profile" icon at the top right of the home screen.
- Tap “Manage registered devices” button.
- Turn “Auto data retrieval from body composition monitor” ON.
This completes the settings. When the app is launched, measurement data saved in the BCM will automatically be transmitted to your smartphone.
Using the BCM with wireless LAN communication
Set up wireless LAN communication
If you are using the BCM for the first time, use Bluetooth to set up wireless LAN communication by following these procedures.
- Turn on Bluetooth on your smartphone.
- Tap “Input Data” on the app home screen.
- If the “BCM” tab is selected, tap “Input from BCM”.
- Tap “Body Composition Monitor with Bluetooth Low Energy / Wireless LAN Compatibility” on the select device screen.
- Tap “Register BCM”.
- Make sure that the BCM power is turned off, press the 〇 button on the BCM and select “Communication Settings” > “Set from Smartphone”.
- Input each of the items in “BCM Settings” on the app.
- Tap “Set up wireless LAN”.
- On the “Select Network” screen, select the name of the network (SSID) you want to connect to, enter the password, and tap “OK”. If the name of the network (SSID) you want to connect to is not displayed, tap “Add Network”, enter the required information, and tap “OK”. When wireless LAN setup is successful, a checkmark will be displayed to the right of the network name. (If a wireless LAN network has already been set up, it will be displayed with a checkmark. To change it, select another network name (SSID) and set it up.)
- Turn on “Wireless LAN Transmission”. (If wireless LAN transmission is not turned on, the data will not be automatically transmitted via wireless LAN after measurement.)
- Tap “Complete Setup and Measure”, and make measurements following the instructions on the app. (If you are completing registration without measuring, tap “Complete Setup and Return to Home Screen”.)
This completes wireless LAN communication setup.
Starting the next time, when making measurements, following the procedures for making measurements with the BCM and transmitting the measurement data via wireless LAN communication.
Measuring with the BCM and transmitting the data via wireless LAN communication
- With the power off, step on the BCM.
- Your body composition is measured and the data is automatically saved in the BCM.
*The person being measured is automatically recognized from among the people registered and the result is displayed. If automatic recognition results in multiple candidates, step off the BCM and select your user ID. If the heartrate setting is on, step back on the BCM and measure your heartrate. When measurement is complete, the measurement data is transmitted.
*The measurement data may fail to transmit depending on the network status, but the issue is resolved in the following manner.
●After 30 minutes, retransmitting the data will be tried automatically.
●After measurements are made again, or another person makes measurements, any untransmitted data will also be automatically transmitted.
●When you press the 〇 button on the BCM and select and tap “Communications Settings” > “Transmit Data”, the data will be transmitted.
*If for one time only you don’t want to transmit the measurement data, press the 〇 button when the measurement data is displayed and select “Don’t Transmit Data”. The measurement data will not be transmitted and will be deleted from the BCM.
*To see the data on the HealthPlanet app, tap the sync button on the upper-left of the home screen and sync the data with the server.
Changing/canceling BCM settings
- Tap the profile icon at the top right corner of the home screen.
- Tap “Manage Registered Device”
- Tap “Edit” on the BCM for which you want to change/cancel registration.
Tap “Change” to change the settings for BCM personal keys and colors, nicknames, clothing and smartphone weight, BCM region settings, exercise habits, heartrate measurement, user notes, and wireless LAN.
Tap “Delete” to cancel the device registration.
*On the RD-930L/931L, the BCM personal key is displayed as the “User ID”.
Changing wireless LAN communication settings
- Tap the profile icon at the top right corner of the home screen.
- Tap “Manage Registered Device”
- Tap “Edit” on the BCM for which you want to change/cancel registration.
- Tap “Change”.
- Tap “Wireless LAN Settings”.
- On the “Select Network” screen, select the name of the network (SSID) you want to connect to, enter the password, and tap “OK”. If the name of the network (SSID) you want to connect to is not displayed, tap “Add Network”, enter the required information, and tap “OK”.
- Turn on “Wireless LAN Transmission”.
*If wireless LAN transmission is not turned on, the data after measurement will not be automatically transmitted via wireless LAN.
Change user color setting
You can choose the color you want the lighted parts of the BCM to display.
- With the power off on the BCM, tap the profile icon on the upper-right of the home screen.
- Tap “Manage Registered Device”
- Tap “Edit” on the BCM you want to set the color on.
- Tap “Change”.
- Tap “Set User Color”.
- You can change the color by sliding the three sliders, for red (R), green (G) and blue (B), to the left and right.
Weight of Clothes and Smartphone
*When you register “Weight of Clothes and Smartphone” on the app, it is inputted into the RD-930L/931L and integrated into the measurement results when user recognition is enabled (“Noru Pita” function). Conversely, please note that even if you set “Weight of Clothes and Smartphone” on the RD-930L/931L, it is not reflected on the app.
“Weight of Clothes and Smartphone” settings can be changed with the following procedures.
“Profile” > “Manage Registered Device” > “Edit (Device)” > “Change” > “Weight of Clothes and Smartphone”
Compatible BCM: BC-505 (Android App)
Register
- Turn on the body composition monitor and follow the instruction manual to set BCM Area and Calendar Settings.
- Turn Bluetooth ON, on the communication device.
- Tap “Enter data” button on the home screen.
- With Body Comp selected, tap “Input From BCM” button.
- Tap “Register BCM” button.
- Go to “Register personal data” button and proceed according to the BCM instruction manual. Set communication to YES.
- Tap “OK” button and then tap “Register” button for the relevant body composition monitor on the BCM management page. Depending on the device, you may need to enter a passkey (PIN code).
When you see an “enter passkey” screen, enter the digits 0000.
Complete the “Register personal data” section on the BCM.
*If the connection is successful, the body composition meter will beep. If the connection fails, please start again from step 4.
●The BC-505 can be used on Android devices equipped with Bluetooth. iOS devices do not support communication.
Cancel registration
- Tap "Profile" icon at the top right corner of the home screen.
- Tap “Manage registered devices” button.
- Tap “Cancel” button for the body composition monitor you want to unregister.
You can also use the following steps to cancel your registration.
- Tap “Settings” button on the communication device. Tap “Wireless and Network” button. Tap “Bluetooth Settings” button.
- Press and hold “TANITA BC-505” button and tap “Unpair” button.
Transmit data
- Tap “Enter data” button on the home screen.
- With Body Comp selected, tap “Input From BCM” button.
- When you see “Receiving data from BCM…”, step on the body composition monitor.
- Data transmission is complete when you see the message, “Data has been entered.”
●The BC-505 can be used on Android devices equipped with Bluetooth. iOS devices do not support communication.
*Reset pairing

If communication is interrupted by moving or shifting the device away from the smartphone while sending, data will not be transmitted correctly. Please be careful.
Transmit data
iPhone app
- Tap “Enter data” button on the home screen.
- With “Steps” selected, tap “Input from pedometer” button. *Tap Start Scan for the second and subsequent times.
- Tap “FB-730/AM-150” button.
- When you see the message, “Ready to scan,” move the device closer to the upper back of the iPhone.
- When you see the message, “Data retrieval is complete,” tap “Done” at the upper right of the screen.
Android app
- Tap “Enter data” button on the home screen.
- With “Steps” selected, tap “Input from pedometer” button.
- Tap “FB-730/AM-150” button.
- When you see the message, “Retrieving data from pedometer/activity monitor,” hold the or on the back of the pedometer/activity monitor over the FeliCa image on your smartphone. (Transmission will begin and “Reading” will be displayed. Do not move until “Reading” disappears.)
- When you see the message, “Data has been entered,” tap “Done” at the top right of the screen.
●If a FeliCa image does not show on your device, please check for the reading point.
Compatible activity monitor: AM-160 (iPhone app)
Compatible activity monitor: AM-161 (iPhone and Android apps)
Register
- Turn Bluetooth ON, on the communication device.
- Tap “Enter data” button on the home screen.
- iPhone: With Steps selected, tap “Input from pedometer/activity monitor” button.
Android: With Steps selected, tap “Input from pedometer/activity monitor” button and tap “AM-161” button.
- Tap “Register pedometer” button.
- Press and hold Λ for at least two seconds.Tap OK when you see the communication icon ( ).
- Enter walking/running strides and tap “Register” button.
*AM-160 and AM-161 can be used on iPhone 6s or later. Click here for Android compatible devices.
*If you have trouble registering, unregister and re-register your device from Settings > Bluetooth on your smartphone.
Cancel or edit registration
- Tap “Profile” icon at the top right of the home screen.
- Tap “Manage registered devices” button.
- Tap “Edit” button on the BCM you want to unregister.
Select “Change” button to edit walking or running stride.
Select “Cancel” button to unregister.
*If you have trouble re-registering, unregister and re-register your device from Settings > Bluetooth on your smartphone.
Transmit data
- Turn Bluetooth ON, from your smartphone Settings.
- Tap “Enter data” button on the home screen.
- With “Steps” selected, tap “Input from pedometer” button.
- When you see the message: “Retrieving data from pedometer…,” hold the communication button (○) for at least two seconds. Transmission will begin when you see the communication icon (
).
- Data transmission is complete when you see the message, “Data has been entered.”

Register BPM
- Turn Bluetooth ON from your smartphone Settings.
- Tap “Enter data” button from the app home screen.
- Make sure that the BPM is set to clock mode. Press and hold “Temperature Display” button for at least three seconds.
Device registration will be on standby when you see the communication icon ().
- Tap “Register BPM” button for the app to start searching for a device.
- When the device is found, the authentication code displayed on the BPM will also show up on the app screen.
- Tap “Record 1” or “Record 2” on the app that has the authentication code that matches the one on the BPM to complete the registration.
- When registration is complete, you will see “Start Reading” displayed on the app.
Measure blood pressure
- Please follow the instructions that come with the BPM when taking BP measurements.
Transmit measurement results to app
- Measure blood pressure with the BPM, tap the number you registered the device with (“Record 1” or “Record 2”) and save.
- When the BPM is on clock mode, tap the number saved (“Record 1” or “Record 2”) to
show the communication icon () and put data transmission on standby.
- Tap “Start Reading” button on the app to upload.
- When uploading is complete and you see the message, “Data has been entered,” you can view the transmitted measurements on your app.
Cancel BPM registration
- Tap “Profile” icon at top right of the home screen.
- Tap “Manage registered devices” button
- Tap Cancel on the device you want to unregister.
Compatible BPM: UA-1200BLE (A&D Digital) *iOS only
Register
■Prepare
Disconnect the USB cable from the charged BPM. BLE communication will not work with the USB cable left connected.
■Pair
Turn the main BPM unit power OFF.
*Devices cannot be paired immediately after measuring blood pressure. Please wait (at least one minute) before starting to pair.
- Turn Bluetooth ON from your smartphone Settings.
- Tap “Enter data” button on the app home screen.
- Select “Blood Pressure” button displayed at the top of the screen and tap “Enter data” button from the BPM.
*If you do not see “Enter data” button on the BPM, it is possible that the device has already been selected. If so, tap “Revert to manual entry” button to show selection.
- Select UA-1200BLE from device list.
- Tap Register BPM.
→ When communicating with the device for the first time, a pairing request will be displayed.
- Registration complete
The dialogue “Registered as User XX” will appear.
Your user number is the one registered on the BPM, which was automatically appointed to you.
Measure
■Measure
- Measure with the user number assigned when you registered.
■Read stored records
- Turn the BPM power OFF.
- Tap Start Reading to upload data.
- When uploading is complete and you see the message, “Data has been entered,” you can view the transmitted measurements on your app.
Compatible BPM: BP-302 (Android app)
Transmit data
- Tap “Enter data” button on the home screen.
- With “Blood Pressure” selected, tap “Input from BPM” button.
- When you see the message, “Retrieving data from BPM…” hold the BPM communication button for at least three seconds, then hold the communication icon () on the BPM against the FeliCa image on your smartphone.
- Data transmission is complete when you see the message, “Data has been entered.”
●The BP-302 BPM can be used with Android devices equipped with NFC. Not compatible with iOS devices.
Retrieve measured data from body composition monitor
Retrieve data manually
- Tap "Profile" icon at the top right of the home screen.
- Tap “Manage registered devices” button.
- Tap “Data retrieval” button of the data you want to retrieve from the body composition monitor.
- When the message is displayed, tap OK.
*Up to 10 measurements can be saved as data on the body composition monitor.
*Data cannot be retrieved unless the communication device and BCM are paired.

Retrieve Data Automatically (Automatic retrieval setting for BCM data)
Automatic retrieval is a function that lets you automatically retrieve BCM data when the app is activated.
- Tap "Profile" icon at the top right of the home screen.
- Tap “Manage registered devices” button.
- Turn “Auto data retrieval from body composition monitor” ON.
*Up to 10 measurements can be saved as data on the body composition monitor.
*When the app is activated with the automatic retrieval turned ON, the icon next to Weight will blink and the BCM data will automatically be retrieved.
*When multiple BCMs are paired with a single smartphone, automatic retrieval will only work for the first body composition monitor found in the pairing.

Graphs
View graphs
- Tap “View graphs” button on the home screen or tap the respective mini-graph displayed on the widget.
Change the items displayed in the graph
- Tap the display items on the graph screen and select the item you want to display.
Display graph with two axes
- Tap (+) on the graph screen and select the item you want to display.
Restore graph to single axis display
- Tap (-) on the graph screen.
Change the graph display period
- On the graph screen, tap the period you want displayed: one week, one month, three months, half year, or one year.
View graphs from the past
- Move the graph screen to the left or right to see older or newer graphs.
View registered data
- Tap the four lines at the top right of the graph screen.
- Select the measurement item and tap the line of the date you want to see data from.
- Tap (↑) or (↓) to see data from before or after the date you selected.
You can also use the following steps to check your registered data.
- Tap the graph on the graph screen.
- Tap the balloon with the date and number to display details of your registered data.
Delete registered data
- Tap the four lines at the top right of the graph screen.
- Select the measurement item and tap the line of the date you want to delete data from.
- Tap “Delete” button.
Data
To see a summary of your data
- Tap “View Data” on the home screen.
- Tap any one of “Body”, “Blood Pressure”, “Step Count”, or “Urine Glucose” and select the item you wish to display.
For Body Comp, Blood Pressure, and Urine Glucose you will see the average values for that month next to the year and month. Step Count will show the month’s total and average number of steps.
About the colored marks next to the data
When there are multiple data entries for the same month, the following marks will appear next to each value.
- The month’s highest, orange.(●)
- The month’s lowest, light blue.(■)
Widgets
Customize widgets
- Tap “Customize” button at the top of the home screen.
- Tap to turn display items ON or OFF according to your purposes and preferences.
Set your target weight
- Tap “Set target” button on the weight widget.
*Or tap “Set target” button on your profile page.
- Tap the “Target weight” button line and enter your target weight.
- Select “Higher” or “Lower” than your target weight.
*Choose whether your goal is to weigh ●kg or more, or ●kg or less.
●When you set a target figure…
・the widget will display the difference between your current weight and your target weight.
E.g.) 2.2kg away to target.
・Your target line will be displayed above the graph.
Set your target step count
- Tap “Set target” button on the Steps widget.
*Or tap “Set target” button on your profile page.
- Tap the “Target steps” line and enter your target step count.
● When you set a target figure…
・the widget will display the difference between your current step count and your target step count.
E.g.) 1980 steps to target.
・The widget will show how many times you reached your target in the past week.
E.g.) Three s.
・Your target line will be displayed above the graph.
Change widget tally period (steps, energy expenditure)
- Tap “Total steps this week/month” or “Total energy expenditure this week/month”, to change the tally period.
*Your total energy expenditure this week/month will start being counted on Sunday.
*To display “Recommended weight”, enter your weight or basal metabolism.
Recommended Weight Maintenance
The estimated daily energy required to maintain your current weight by calculating BMR* × physical activity level.
*BMR × weight
Physical activity level is indicated in Profile Editing and can be set as high, normal, or low.
Daily activities for each level are as follows:
Daily Life
Low: You spend most of your time sedentary and your activities are predominantly static.
Normal: Your work is predominantly sitting but also engage in either moving and standing at work during projects or serving customers, walking to and from work or shopping, household chores, and light sports.
High: Your work requires considerable movement and standing, or you regularly engage in active exercise during your free time, such as sports.

- Tap "Profile" icon at the top right corner of the home screen.
- Tap “Edit profile” icon.
- Tap the item you want to change and edit.
Link with iOS Healthcare App
Link with Healthcare
- Tap "Profile" icon at the top right corner of the home screen.
- Tap “Healthcare Link Settings” button.
- Go to “Access Healthcare data” and tap the item you want to link.
- Tap “Allow” button on the upper right.
*Data shown will be from after linkage setting is complete.
*You can show your weight and body fat percentage recorded on the HealthPlanet app on your Healthcare app.
Cancel Healthcare link
- Go to Healthcare and tap “Source” button.
- Tap the HealthPlanet app.
- Tap items that you want to cancel to turn them OFF.
*You can link with Healthcare on an iPhone.
Link with Twitter
Link with Twitter
- Tap "Profile" icon at the top right of the home screen.
- Tap “Share on Twitter” button.
- Tap “Start Linking” button in Twitter Settings on the HealthPlanet Website. Tap “Link” button.
- When the Twitter app approval page opens, confirm the content and tap “Authorize app” button.
*If you are not logged into Twitter, you will be directed to the login page.
Cancel Twitter link
- Tap "Profile" icon at the top right corner of the home screen.
- Tap “Link to HealthPlanet Website” button.
- On the Website, you can cancel the link from the following steps.
Confirm or Change Registered Information > Twitter Link > Twitter Settings > Cancel Link
Edit tweets
- Tap "Profile" icon at the top right corner of the home screen.
- Tap “Link to HealthPlanet Website” button.
- On the Website, you can edit your tweets from the following steps.

- Tap “Unsubscribe” button at the bottom of the website.
- Log in.

- Fill in the required fields and tap Confirm.
- Confirm the contents and tap Send.
*If you receive the message, “This user has used the same ID with Karada-Karute and cannot unsubscribe,” please inquire using the Contact Us form.
*If you cancel your membership, all of your account and measurement information will be permanently deleted. Even if you decide to re-register as a member, your previous account information will not be carried over.
